Golden Tate (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game between the Seahawks and the Cardinals. We break down the fantasy implications.
Golden Tate has been ruled out for Sunday's season opener between the Seattle Seahawks and the Arizona Cardinals, John Boyle of the Everett Herald reports. Tate injured his knee in the Seahawks' preseason finale and was held out of practice throughout the past week. Braylon Edwards is expected to slide into Tate's split end position.
Analysis: Tate has been somewhat of a disappointment in his two season in the NFL, and could potentially be in danger of losing his place on the depth chart to the supremely talented, albeit inconsistent, Edwards. Time will tell. At this point, both should be probably be on waivers in standard leagues. Sidney Rice is expected to be the team's go-to receiver, with Doug Baldwin sucking up targets in the slot.
