Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rashard Mendenahall is listed as doubtful for Sunday night's game against the Denver Broncos with a knee injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rashard Mendenahall is listed as doubtful for Sunday night's game against the Denver Broncos with a knee injury. Although Mendenhall practiced in full on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, it appears unlikely that he will suit up for the season opener. However, it's worth noting that Jason Witten was listed as doubtful for the Dallas Cowboys' game on Wednesday night and managed to play. Barring a shocking turn of events, Mendenhall will likely sit this one out.

Fantasy Impact: Rashard Mendenhall owners will have to be patient, which should have been expected with a player coming off such a serious injury. In Mendehall's absence, Jonathan Dwyer is the Steelers' running back to own. Isaac Redman is working through his own injury issues right now and was outperformed b Dwyer throughout the preseason. However, it appears a committee situation could be utilized, decreasing the value of the entire backfield.
