Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart says he is likely out of Sunday's Week 1 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart says he will likely miss Sunday's season opener because of his sprained ankle. Stewart posted the news on Twitter on Sunday morning. Stewart's absence means DeAngelo Williams will get the bulk of the carries against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with Mike Tolbert likely getting some short-yardage chances.

Fantasy Impact: Stewart not playing is not much of a surprise considering how little he has practiced since the injury. This is better news for Williams owners who won't have to worry about Stewart taking carries. However, there is a possibility that Tolbert gets more of the chances around the goal line.
