Beanie Wells Will Play Week 1, But Fantasy Value Still Low

Beanie Wells will play for the Cardinals on Sunday but split time with Ryan Williams. We break down the fantasy implications.

Arizona Cardinals running back Beanie Wells will likely play today according to Pat Kirwan on Twitter, but could still lose significant carries to Ryan Williams. Wells has been dealing with a hamstring issue but will work through it to play in the week 1 opener against the Seattle Seahawks. He missed two games last season, both against the Seahawks.

2012 Projection: The biggest issue for Wells is the hamstring troubles he's had this week. The second biggest is that Ryan Williams has been impressive and will take significant carries away from him. The third biggest is that Seattle has a stout run defense. That is three good reasons to not consider starting Wells in your fantasy league this week and instead look for another option. It seems likely that Williams is the better play off of the bat.
