Tony Gonzalez Gets Double-Digit Fantasy Points In Opener

September 09, 2012; Kansas City, MO, USA; Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez (88) catches a pass for a touchdown as Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Derrick Johnson (56) makes the tackle in the second half at Arrowhead Stadium. The Falcons won 40-24. Mandatory Credit: Denny Medley-US PRESSWIRE

Tony Gonzalez finds the end zone. We break down the fantasy implications.

Tony Gonzalez had a nice return to Kansas City by his score headlining a stat performance of five catches for 53 yards.

Analysis: Tony Gone saw six targets compared to the eight of Roddy White and the nine of Julio Jones. Matt Ryan had no problem hitting his receivers today and for his tight end to reel in five of his six targets, it's certainly encouraging. The Falcons had this game in hand early and Matty Ice still put it up 31 times. Based on that, in a close game it would seem like Ryan would throw the ball 40 times and Gonzalez should be able to flirt with seven targets on a weekly basis. He'll be a low-end TE1 next week against Denver.
