KANSAS CITY, MO - SEPTEMBER 09: Running back Jamaal Charles #25 of the Kansas City Chiefs rushes past safety Thomas DeCoud #28 of the Atlanta Falcons during the second quarter of their season opener on September 9, 2012 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. Jamaal Charles doesn't get many touches, but is efficient. We break down the fantasy implications.
Jamaal Charles was the best player on the field for the Chiefs with his 87 yards on 16 carries in the blowout loss to Atlanta.
Analysis: Surprisingly, Charles didn't see a single target in the passing game. Cassel threw the ball 33 times, so this is something that hopefully doesn't become a trend for fantasy owners. The Longhorn had a nice YPC of 5.4 which is something that makes him stand out as a fantasy asset. The good news is that Charles looked healthy, although one could argue that he would have broken away for a long TD on his 46-yard run. He's a must-start next week against Buffalo.
