Jamaal Charles injury update: Fantasy explosion could be on the horizon

Charles LeClaire-US PRESSWIRE

Jamaal Charles is on the injury report for no reason. We break down the fantasy implications.

Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles is listed as probable to face the Raiders on Sunday. He sat out of practice on Wednesday, was limited on Thursday and put in a full load on Friday.

He is fine and is set up for a beautiful week against the Raiders. In fact, we have him as our top back this week in PPR leagues this week and he seems like a good bet to drop 20 points this week.

Quarterback Alex Smith has been a check-down fiend and he'll continue to use Charles with the way the Raiders have improved their exterior pass rush. Plus, the Raiders don't have much of an interior defense and they could show some vulnerabilities through the course of the season.

Fantasy impact: Charles is going to go to town on Sunday. He ranks as the top back in our PPR rankings and will be a top-three guy in standard leagues. KC should be able to get the ground game going against the weaker OAK team.
