Andy Dalton impresses with three touchdowns vs. Bills

Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Spor

Andy Dalton threw for 337 yards and three touchdowns in an overtime victory against the Bills. We take a look at the fantasy implications.

Andy Dalton was in rare form against the Bills on Sunday afternoon. After several rough weeks on his stat lines, Dalton completed 26 of 40 passing attempts for 337 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception on the road. It was Dalton's strongest performance of the season largely due to offensive coordinator Jay Gruden's apparent game plan adjustment. Dalton was able to get the ball out of his hands quicker, allowing his receivers to make plays. Dalton showed improvement with decision making as he was able to improvise on plays better than he's been able to all season. He added 17 rushing yards to the box score.

Fantasy impact: Dalton wasn't exactly lighting up the Bills over the top. He was simply efficient in getting the ball to the right players while giving them the opportunity to attack the Bills secondary. Dalton was further supported by a strong running game as the Bengals had a season-high 165 total yards. Wide receiver A.J. Green led the team with 103 yards and a touchdown, but Dalton was able to spread the ball around to Marvin Jones (3 rec, 71 yds) and running back Giovani Bernard (6 rec, 72 yds). Dalton will be an interesting QB2 in Week 7, as they face a mediocre Lions secondary.
