Browns running back Willis McGahee was held out of practice on Thursday to rest his surgically repaired knee, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot.
McGahee was released from the Broncos this offseason primarily due to the team's health concerns over the 32-year-old veteran's knee, and the Browns appear to just be managing their feature back's reps. Depth at the position remains scarce with Chris Ogbonnaya and Bobby Rainey backing him up, so it's in the best interest of the Browns to keep McGahee fresh.
Fantasy Spin: There doesn't appear to be any real danger of McGahee missing the team's Week 7 matchup versus the Packers, but it hardly makes things any easier for fantasy owners in need of a spot starter. The Packers' run defense ranks third in the NFL, allowing 78 yards per game, and is giving up an average of 3.4 yards per carry. As a result, McGahee remains a low-end flex option this week as he has already had his share of struggles running the football since joining the Browns in Week 3. If McGahee were to give his career a jump start, this would be a tough week for that to happen.
