After a disappointing start of the season from Daryl Richardson, the St. Louis Rams decided to turn to rookie running back Zac Stacy as their new workhorse. With two starts under his belt, Stacy has played well and will continue to lead the team in carries. While he has not yet found the end zone, the fifth-round pick has run for 161 yards on 33 carries, and is averaging just under five yards per attempt.
What was also encouraging about Stacy was the fact that running backs Daryl Richardson and Benny Cunningham received only three carries each. Stacy is clearly the man now and should continue to see plenty of carries going forward.
Fantasy Impact: While the Rams aren't exactly a powerhouse rushing team, a feature back on any team should never be overlooked. Stacy has now come within 21 and 22 yards of 100 yards in his last two games. With more comfort and familiarity in the system as the starter, there is no reason to think that Stacy and continue to improve upon these numbers. The lack of touchdowns is the biggest concern thus far, which leaves him is a mid-tier RB2. Owners can once again expect solid production.
