Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams had his worst game of the season Sunday, running for 40 yards and adding only 19 through the receiving game. Backup running back Mike Tolbert got his fourth touchdown of the year, with 36 rushing yards, as the Panthers beat the St. Louis Rams 30-15.
Williams' 2.7 yards per carry on his 15 carries Sunday was his worst number of the season. He is still seeking his first score of 2013, as Tolbert has been the team's goal-line back.
Tolbert's 36 rushing yards was his best total of the season. His touchdown came on a one-yard run near the end of the first half.
Fantasy impact: Just like a year ago, it will be tough for any Panthers rusher to get significant value the way they are deployed. Williams had 120 yards in the team's Week 3 win over the New York Giants, but has been basically quiet the rest of the year. With him getting the bulk of the carries, but Tolbert getting the scores, neither guy is getting enough work to justify much attention in fantasy.
