Vincent Jackson posts star-studded fantasy performance against Falcons

Daniel Shirey-USA TODAY Sports

The Buccaneers wide receiver showed why he’s a superstar in Week 7 against the Falcons. We break down the fantasy implications.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson caught 10 passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns in a 31-23 loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 7. Jackson was targeted a season-high 22 times in the contest.

Fantasy impact: For fantasy owners who were worried about Jackson's status as the team's No. 1 receiver with the Bucs switching to Mike Glennon at quarterback there is obviously no need to worry at this point. Glennon has thrown each of his last four touchdowns to Jackson in the last two games.

For a receiver to be targeted 22 times in a game is absolutely insane, and it's safe to say that with his size and athleticism, Jackson is going to haul those targets in for catches no matter who is at quarterback.

It almost seemed as if Jackson didn't even need to try that hard in order to make his mark on the game. In the second quarter he caught a 59-yard touchdown pass with one hand and waltzed into the end zone after pushing a defender off of him.

Though the Buccaneers face a tough Carolina Panthers defense in Week 8, Jackson is no question one of the best fantasy receivers that could possibly be starting line up right now, so if you have him get him in there.
