Colin Kaepernick injury: 49ers QB probable, toe issue won't affect fantasy performance

Don McPeak-USA TODAY Sports

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is listed as probable for Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is listed as probable on the injury report heading into Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Kapernick has a foot injury ... we think. The 49ers have a tendency to keep players on the injury report for far longer than they need to be, and Kaepernick was a surprise appearance on the list before the team's Week 7 game against the Tennessee Titans.

Kaepernick looked fine in that game, throwing for 199 yards with no interceptions, and he had 11 carries for 68 yards and a touchdown. He's a dual-threat quarterback and wouldn't have run the ball that much if there was really a problem with his foot. He even joked about the injury to reporters before the game.

Fantasy Impact: Kaepernick isn't hurt, or at the very least, he's not hurt in any way that will have an effect on his performance. He should be started by fantasy owners today and every week going forward. The raw passing stats haven't been there, but owners who stick it out should be rewarded when some of San Francisco's receivers return from injury.
