Buffalo Bills running back Fred Jackson (knee) practiced on Friday and will draw the start in Week 8 against the New Orleans Saints. C.J. Spiller is not expected to play, which leaves Jackson as the team's feature back. Tashard Choice figures to play the change-of-pace roll, but isn't a significant threat to Jackson's workload.
Fantasy Impact: As the workhorse back for the week, Jackson is in line to see 15-20 carries against the Saints. The Bills will once again roll with quarterback Thad Lewis as the team's first-round pick, E.J. Manuel, continues to rehab from his knee injury. The 32 year-old Jackson has played reasonably well thus far; he is averaging a solid 4.4 yards per carry and has five touchdowns on the year.
Although Jackson is locked in as the starter for the week, he is not exactly a sure bet to put up big numbers. Lewis hasn't turned many heads in his few starts, and the Bills do not have a plethora of offensive player makers. If the Bills find themselves down early against the Saints' potent offense, the majority of Jackson's production will likely come from touchdowns. He is a mid-range RB2.
