Washington Redskins running back Alfred Morris rushed 17 times for 93 yards and a touchdown in the Week 8 loss to the Denver Broncos. Morris got the lion's share of the carries over Roy Helu Jr. who only carried the ball five times for 11 yards while adding one reception for 14 yards. Morris finished with a healthy 5.5 yards per carry average to Helu's 2.2. While Helu has value in the receiving game, Morris should continue to be the feature back in Washington since he is clearly the more talented rusher between the two.
Fantasy impact: Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III struggled against the Broncos defense that was bolstered by the return of Von Miller. He also left the game in the fourth quarter and his status is uncertain at the moment. Given the struggles in the passing game, the Redskins would be wise to rely more heavily on their rushing attack. The Redskins did run the ball 22 times and Morris was productive against a stout Broncos run defense. The Redskins will face the San Diego Chargers in Week 9.
