Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon catches a pass against the Denver Broncos - Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon caught seven passes for 46 yards in the Week 8 loss to the Denver Broncos. We bring you the fantasy implications here.

Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon caught seven passes for 46 yards in the Week 8 loss to the Denver Broncos. Garcon was targeted 11 times Sunday and finished with a measly 6.6 yards per catch average. Garcon currently leads the Redskins in receiving with 78 targets, 47 receptions for 512 yards and two touchdowns. It might not be long until rookie tight end Jordan Reed overtakes Garcon as the number one receiving target in Washington.

Fantasy impact: Garcon has an astounding 78 targets on the season and has only managed to haul in 47 receptions. You may already be seeing the transition to Reed as the big-play threat in Washington. Garcon is only a matchup play at the moment and a possible injury to Robert Griffin III only makes his value more questionable. He simply cannot be counted on to produce consistently good numbers in the Redskins offense. The Redskins will face the San Diego Chargers in Week 9.
