The Week 5 matchup for the Bengals and Patriots isn't quite what we expected as far as players go. Both teams are banged up, especially the Patriots on offense. There could be playoff implications, but fantasy owners don't care about that. Check out some projections from NumberFire for all the players you're thinking of starting on offense.
The Patriots are optimistic about getting Danny Amendola back this week, which could be a big help. Tom Brady hasn't been his usual self, with his lowest YPA in the past 10 seasons, and the Patriots offense hasn't been cruising at all. Brady gets an injured Bengals secondary that was exposed by the Browns last week. He's safe to start in all leagues.
The Pats have a messy situation in their backfield. LeGarrette Blount is going to get the lion's share of the carries with Stevan Ridley ruled out on Friday. Blount has looked good and for some reason the team used him as a kick return in the preseason. He's a risky play against the stout run D of Geno Atkins and Co.
A.J. Green got the Joe Haden treatment last week and was shut down. That's not going to happen this time around, and he's a good bet go explode on the scene against the smaller secondary of New England. Andy Dalton could also have to air it out to keep pace with Tom Brady and is a somewhat safe QB2 ,or could help those that have bye-week issues.
Gio Bernard should get most of the work since BenJarvus Green-Ellis has looked very slow. He's a high-upside guy in PPR leagues.
