Frank Gore injury update: Fantasy owners should have Gore vs. Panthers

Thearon W. Henderson

Frank Gore is ready to go in a tough matchup against the Panthers. We break down the fantasy implications.

San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore is listed as probable to face the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. He didn't miss any practice this week and should play without restriction.

Gore has been on the injury report before and there should be absolutely no concern. He's getting quite a workload these days and has at least 20 touches in four of his last five games.

His carries have yielded positive results so far this year and he's scored two touchdowns in back-to-back games. Of course, the 49ers haven't had the toughest schedule, as they went up against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, Arizona Cardinals, Houston Texans and St. Louis Rams over his hot five-game stretch.

Fantasy impact: The 49ers have scored 30 points in five consecutive games for the first time in team history, but the sledding will be a little tougher this week against the Panthers. Fantasy owners still have to roll with Gore and hope the Panthers don't put too much pressure on Colin Kaepernick. He's an RB1 in standard and an must-play RB2 in PPR.
