New Orleans Saints
Last week against the Carolina Panthers, quarterback Drew Brees demonstrated why he's one of the best of all time. He threw four touchdown passes in the game and eclipsed the 300-yard mark against a red hot Panthers defense. It's the same old story for Brees, leading the charge for his fantasy owners and teammates on a weekly basis.
The Rams' secondary is good, but Brees should have no trouble connecting with tight end Jimmy Graham. The All-Pro tight end caught two of Brees' touchdown passes last week and has scored four times in the last three games. It doesn't really matter what the Rams do on Sunday, they're going to have trouble keeping Graham out of the end zone.
St. Louis Rams
Since the Rams will likely play from behind on Sunday and be forced to throw the ball early and often, receiver Tavon Austin could be in for some big-time fantasy numbers. He's got a lot of speed and talent. He's a rookie so he's susceptible to boom-or-bust type games, but he has been a bit more consistent lately. He will be targeted heavily downfield this week and should be able to cash in despite facing a good Saints secondary unit.
When the Rams do run the ball, it'll be in the hands of rookie Zac Stacy. Stacy was held to just 1.8 yards per carry against the Arizona Cardinals last week but he did manage to score his fifth touchdown of the season. He'll be in for a tough matchup against the Saints this week but hopefully he can break through. Teammate Benny Cunningham will also get some carries, as the pair have been splitting more action la tely.
