Much has been made about the Cowboys' inability to maintain a lead against the Green Bay Packers last week. They were up by 23 points and lost. The effort has brought quarterback Tony Romo under the microscope for the wrong reasons once again. It seems November and December are just not Romo's favorite months of the season. Perhaps a game against the porous Redskins will help.
Romo will need to connect with Dez Bryant often if the Cowboys still want a shot at a division title and intend to walk out of Washington with a win. Bryant is producing touchdowns, but his yardage and reception totals have decreased over the last month. He'll be covered tightly this week, but should still be able to find his share of fantasy points.
Quarterback Kirk Cousins is a popular fantasy sleeper pick as owners head into championship week. The sophomore is getting a chance to start with Robert Griffin III being shut down by coach Mike Shanahan to keep him healthy for next year. Cousins threw three touchdowns and managed 381 yards against the Atlanta Falcons last week, and Dallas' defense is just as bad as Atlanta's.
Cousins will no doubt look to Pierre Garcon to make things happen against the Cowboys. Garcon caught seven passes for 129 yards and a touchdown against the Falcons last week. Given how much the Cowboys have trouble against the pass, he should be in for a big week. Garcon and the gang must be salivating at the opportunity to end the playoff hopes of a bitter rival.
