Fantasy football projections, Week 16: Giants vs. Lions featuring Andre Brown, Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson

We break down the Week 16 matchup between the New York Giants and the Detroit Lions.

The Week 16 matchup between the New York Giants and the Detroit Lions should see some offensive weapons put up big numbers. We've got all the fantasy projections, courtesy of numberFire.

New York Giants

Wide receiver Victor Cruz (knee/concussion) will not play against the Lions this week. That means that quarterback Eli Manning will be looking to throw the ball to the likes of Hakeem Nicks and Rueben Randle. Randle actually leads the team in touchdowns this season. He doesn't log enough receptions or yardage to be considered a fantasy superstar yet, but he could be headed that way in the years to come.

When Manning needs a change of pace, he'll hand the ball off to Andre Brown. Brown stabilized the Giants' running game when he came back from a broken leg early in the second half of the season. He may not be used much this week, however, if the potent Lions offense creates a huge deficit for the Giants to overcome.

Detroit Lions

One has to think that after the Lions' heart-breaking, last-second loss to the Baltimore Ravens last week, quarterback Matthew Stafford will come out gunning against the Giants. The Lions are in a dog fight for a playoff spot and need Stafford at his best.

If Stafford gets things rolling against New York, Calvin Johnson will be a part of the story. He was held out of the end zone by a determined Ravens defense last week, but the Giants' secondary isn't nearly as good as Baltimore's. Johnson is a good bet to score on any given Sunday, and Week 16 is no exception.
