Willis McGahee injury update: RB probable, will play for fantasy owners

Jim Rogash

The Browns running back is listed as probable and will play in Week 16. We break down the fantasy implications.

Cleveland Browns running back Willis McGahee (concussion) is listed as probable and will play in the team's Week 16 game against the New York Jets. He was limited in practice throughout the week and will suit up on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: McGahee will be in the mix for carries but continues to offer fantasy owners extremely little upside. He has rushed 128 times for 377 yards and two touchdowns with an anemic 2.7 yards per carry. McGahee hasn't rushed for more than 72 yards in any game this year and has been under 46 yards in nine of his other ten games played. To make matters worse, the Browns have have been spreading the carries around to Chris Ogbonnaya, Fozzie Whittaker and Edwin Baker. With McGahee back in the mix this week, there is the very realistic possibility that none of the backs will see more than 10 carries and even that is wishful thinking.

In case any owners are still thinking about a Cleveland back, they need to take the Jets's elite run defense into consideration. Even owners in touchdown-heavy leagues need to look elsewhere this week. None of the Cleveland backs should be started in the fantasy finals.
