Jason Witten does vanishing act for fantasy owners vs. Redskins

Greg Fiume

The Cowboys' tight end was rarely targeted during Sunday's win versus the Washington Redskins. We break down the fantasy implications.

Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten was nearly invisible in the receiving game during the team's 24-23 victory over the Washington Redskins.

Witten was targeted on just two passes and caught both for a total of 13 yards. The Cowboys did not take much to the air until the end of the game amid a 23-14 deficit, giving the keys to the offense to DeMarco Murray and an effective ground game.

Fantasy Spin: With just 52 snaps on offense and with the Redskins controlling the clock for the majority of the game, there wasn't much fantasy wealth to spread in the Cowboys offense on Sunday. Witten was one of the many left with nearly empty pockets, and barely registered on the stat sheet.

Witten now has three targets or fewer in three of his last four games and has been held under 50 yards in nine of his 15 games. He remains a low-end TE1 in Week 17 versus the Philadelphia Eagles for fantasy owners still playing.
