Dennis Johnson injury update: RB questionable for fantasy owners

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Texans running back is listed as questionable and could miss Week 17. We break down the fantasy implications.

Houston Texans running back Dennis Johnson (hip) is listed as questionable and could miss the team's Week 17 game against the Tennessee Titans. Johnson didn't practice all week and will likely miss the game.

Fantasy Impact: With Johnson likely out, Jonathan Grimes will draw the start and undrafted rookie Ray Graham will back him up. Johnson hasn't been able to accomplish much with his limited opportunities as he's averaging only 3.7 yards per carry and hasn't found the end zone once. The Texans are scraping the bottom of the barrel with their running backs as Grimes will be their fourth starter running back after injuries to Arian Foster, Ben Tate and Johnson. Grimes has only run the ball five times this year and twice last year and what he'll bring to the table is anyone's guess.

There is some mystery and match up appeal in Grimes as he's taking on the Titan's defense that gives up the second most fantasy points to running backs. He's likely in line for 15-20 carries. Fantasy owners looking to role the dice shouldn't view him as anything more than an average RB2.
