Delanie Walker misses practice, expected to be on fantasy sidelines this week

Jim Brown-USA TODAY Sports

The Titans tight end is probably a no-go this week. We break down the fantasy implications.

Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker (concussion) did not practice with the team on Wednesday according a report by The Tennesseean's Jim Wyatt. Walker has not yet been cleared to resume football activities by a neurologist.

Fantasy Impact: Nowadays concussions can really be tricky to gauge. It's not known if or when Walker will return to game action.

Week 14 is the start of the playoffs in most fantasy leagues, so if you own Walker you'll definitely need a backup to replace him this week. Some reports list Walker as out while others suggest he may play this week.

Fantasy owners shouldn't be fooled however. The truth is the Titans don't have much to play for the rest of the season besides looking towards next season. Plus, the team signed veteran Vinsanthe Schiancoe earlier this week.

Given that, it's hard to envision a scenario where Walker would all of a sudden pop off the sidelines and into game action this week. As for Schiancoe, he hasn't played in a while and isn't really a valid fantasy option coming straight out of free agency.
