Shane Vereen posts superstar fantasy performance against the Browns

Jim Rogash

The Patriots running back blew up the Browns in the backfield in Week 14. We break down the fantasy implications.

New England Patriots running back Shane Vereen caught 12 passes for 153 yards and carried the ball three times for nine yards and a touchdown in the team's 27-26 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 14. He was targeted 17 times in the game.

Fantasy impact: Most in the fantasy community knew that Vereen was the best pass-catching running back in the Patriots backfield. It just took a while to see it on the field since he broke his wrist in Week 1.

How things have changed now. Stevan Ridley is on the outside looking in and any other running back is literally just getting the odd number of carries to spell Vereen once in a while.

He's clearly entered the fantasy playoffs in beast mode and that's got to be an awesome feeling for fantasy owners who scooped him off of the waiver wire late in the season. It's clear Vereen is now a must-start for fantasy owners moving on to Week 15.
