Miami Dolphins running back Lamar Miller has established himself as the clear favorite to be the team's starting running back in Week 1. Miller had two carries for 21 yards in Sunday night's loss to the Dallas Cowboys in the Hall of Fame Game, and the Palm Beach Post reports that Miller looked like the "unchallenged starter" on his gains of 11 and 10 yards.
Miller was involved in a fumble on the first play of Miami's opening drive, when he and quarterback Ryan Tannehill couldn't connect on a handoff. Tannehill was charged with the fumble.
Fantasy Impact: Things opened up nicely for Miller in the offseason after Reggie Bush left for the Detroit Lions. There are no other running backs in Miami for fantasy owners to target, so Miller should get consideration in the middle rounds of drafts. For now, fantasy owners should consider Miller a No. 2/3 running back heading into Draft Day.
