Tony Romo expects to make preseason debut on Friday, looks to impress fantasy owners

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo plans to make his preseason debut on Friday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo isn't expecting to miss the team's next preseason game. Romo tells ESPNDallas.com that he plans to play on Friday against the Oakland Raiders unless "something weird happens" and the team sits all of its starters.

Romo didn't play in Sunday's Hall of Fame game, as the Cowboys didn't use many starters on either side of the ball. Romo signed a six-year, $108 million extension in March.

Fantasy Impact: Romo, as seems to be the case every season, has plenty to prove to both fantasy owners and Cowbows fans -- especially after signing his big contract in the offseason. He threw for more than 4,900 yards and 28 touchdowns but the Cowboys missed the playoffs.

Fantasy owners can do worse than Romo at quarterback but most owners will be focused on doing better when Draft Day rolls around.
