James Jones should see more opportunities for fantasy owners

Both Jones' coach and his quarterback said the wide receiver needs to get more looks going forward. We break down the fantasy implications.

The Green Bay Packers need to get more opportunities for wide receiver James Jones, said both head coach Mike McCarthy and quarterback Aaron Rodgers, according to Fox Sports Wisconsin.

"James didn't get targeted as many times as we would have liked," Rodgers said, in reference to Jones' zero receptions on two targets against the San Francisco 49ers Sunday. "Obviously you've got to try and give him the ball."

Fantasy impact: It's pretty hard not to give someone the ball more when he had zero catches in a game. Rodgers targeted Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, and Jermichael Finley at least eight times apiece against San Francisco, and each guy notched a touchdown as well. Jones is coming off a year in which he averaged four receptions and 48 yards a game last year, scoring 14 touchdowns.

The Packers face a bad Washington Redskins defense Sunday, so expect Jones to get back on track. Touchdowns are always a wild card, but a handful of catches and 70-100 yards wouldn't be remotely surprising.
