Jimmy Graham posts a career-high 156 yards in just one half vs. Buccaneers

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Fantasy football's highest-scoring tight end in 2012 is off to a tremendous start to the game after posting a career high in receiving yards versus the Buccaneers. We break down the fantasy implications.

Saints tight end Jimmy Graham caught eight passes for a career-high 156 yards and a touchdown in the first half versus the Buccaneers.

Graham is proving to be far too much for the Buccaneers' safeties and linebackers to keep up with, despite their athleticism at those positions. But as Graham has shown plenty of times in the past, he is his own animal and can pose a mismatch on just about any player lining up across from him. Graham nearly reeled in a second touchdown catch, but  the call was overturned after video evidence confirmed he was down at the 1-yard line.

Fantasy Spin: In PPR leagues, Graham is already one of the top options of the week at tight end with 29.6 fantasy points with two quarters to still be played. This is a great rebound from a quiet Week 1 outing versus the Falcons, and Graham has shown the fantasy world why he was the most sought-after tight end in auctions and drafts despite a league-wide depth at the position. Graham is not only a top option this week, but he would already have had a career day if he spent the rest of the game on the bench. Fantasy owners would be advised to buckle up with an entire half to still be played.
