Antonio Gates posts solid fantasy numbers in Week 2

San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates stiff arms Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Cary Williams - Patrick Smith

San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates has a solid fantasy day in Week 2 with eight receptions for 124 yards. We bring you the fantasy implications here.

San Diego Chargers tight end had a productive day in the Chargers win over the Philadelphia Eagles with eight receptions for 124 yards. While Gates did not find the end zone, he was the Chargers most productive receiver and led the team in targets with ten. The Chargers passing game has been surprisingly productive and Gates is having a productive year thus far.

Fantasy impact: Gates has been one of Phillip Rivers favorite targets in an offense that has been surprisingly good. Rivers has played well thus far and his receivers are benefiting from it. Although he hasn't found the end zone yet, Gates is getting a lot of attention from Rivers who has thrown seven touchdowns going into Week 3. Gates is a solid TE2 and a good tight end fantasy option in most leagues. In Week 3, the Chargers travel to Nashville to take on a Tennessee Titans defense that has traditionally had trouble covering tight ends.
