Vernon Davis doesn't practice on Wednesday, fantasy owners can expect him to go

Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports

Vernon Davis rests his hamstring on Wednesday. We break down the fantasy implications.

49ers tight end Vernon Davis (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday. He pulled up lame in Sunday Night Football at Seattle and did not return.

The Seahawks shut him down to the tune of just three catches for 20 yards thanks to guys like Richard Sherman covering him. VD did have a better Week 1 with 98 yards on six catches against the Packers.

Fantasy impact: Davis said on Twitter that there's no need to worry and we're going to believe him. He didn't return to the game because it was a blowout, so that shouldn't be perceived as a negative. Colin Kaepernick and Davis have built up a solid rapport in their two seasons together and there's no reason to even think about benching Davis unless the news suddenly turns south. He should be in all lineups.
