Ahmad Bradshaw increasing practice reps, improving fantasy value

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Can Bradshaw stay on the field in 2013?

Indianapolis Colts running back Ahmad Bradshaw has always had injury trouble during his career, but the team is hopeful that he will be ready to play when the Colts take on the Raiders in Week 1.

According to the Indianapolis Star, Colts coach Chuck Pagano is hoping that Bradshaw will increase his reps this week and can play on Sunday. Pagano said Bradshaw is in a good place mentally and physically.

UPDATE: Pagano said Bradshaw will play on Sunday, according to Tom James of the Terre Haute Tribune Star.

Fantasy spin: Bradshaw has the opportunity to be an undisputed feature running back in Indianapolis' offense if he stays healthy. That's always been the big "if" with Bradshaw, but injuries can be tough to predict.

To start the season, Bradshaw should be a decent flex option with the upside to be even better if Indianapolis' offense starts to take form. This week's news is certainly encouraging for Bradshaw owners.
