Geno Smith injury update: Ankle injury doesn't matter for low-upside fantasy QB

Jim Rogash

Geno Smith is still on the injury report with an ankle issue. We break down the fantasy implications.

Geno Smith (ankle) is listed as probable to face the Bills on Sunday. He didn't miss any practice time and is good to go.

The Jets have been allowing Geno to have a little more leash, but it hasn't been a favorable outcome. He had three picks in the fourth quarter against the Patriots and had an ugly passer rating of 27.6.

Fantasy impact: If you're looking to start a QB in a 16-team, two-QB league, then maybe you'd be interested in using Geno. The Jets have given him plenty of time in the pocket, but their passing game has been one of the worst in the league. It's not a difficult case to make that the Jets have the least valuable offense in the NFL. There's little reason to think about using any of them.
