Giovani Bernard injury update: Injury shouldn't be an issue after a breakout

Kirk Irwin

Giovani Bernard is probable to face the Packers. We break down the fantasy implications.

Bengals running back Giovani Bernard (hamstring) is listed as probable to face the Packers. He was limited on Thursday as a precaution and will give it a go.

He had his coming-out party against the Steelers on Monday Night Football with his two TDs. Clearly, he's more skilled than BenJarvus Green-Ellis and could get more work as the season progresses.

Fantasy impact: It could be a big day for Gio. The Packers and Bengals are going to air it out against each other and the points could come in bunches. Gio's hamstring is essentially a non-issue and he's a possible flex play this week. If he does have a bad game, which is doubtful, Gio could serve as a buy-low since it would appear BJGE is being phased out of the offense. Green-Ellis is barely worth owning.
