Editor's update: Jay Glazer is now reporting the Oakland Raiders coaches informed the team Saturday evening that Matt Flynn will get the start over Terrelle Pryor. Denarius Moore and Rod Streater's value improves with a more traditional drop-back passer. The downside is he might get killed by that offensive line. That means more upside for Raiders receivers, but they remain very limited options.
Oakland Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor is expected to start in the team's Week 4 game against the Washington Redskins, according to NFL.com reporter Ian Rappaport. Pryor was knocked out of the team's Week 3 game against the Denver Broncos.
Fantasy Impact: The Raiders face a Redskins pass defense in Week 4 that has given up the second-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season.
Despite the fact nobody had the Oakland Raiders on the radar as anything more than a bottom feeding team this year, Pryor surprised people around the NFL in the preseason, winning the starting job over Matt Flynn.
In the three games he has played so far this season, Pryor has shown poise and a never-quit attitude, though the team has only one win. He has proven he can scramble out of the pocket and still make plays, and is an intriguing plug-and-play option against one of the worst defenses in the league in Week 4.
In general, most fantasy owners may have better surefire options at quarterback than Pryor. If the idea of having him in your lineup against the Redskins is appealing, it might be a good idea to wait until closer to kickoff before starting the Raiders' young gun.
