Jake Locker lights it up for fantasy owners, then leaves with hip injury

Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker picks up yards against the New York Jets - Wesley Hitt

Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker threw for 149 yards and three touchdowns before being carted off the field in the third quarter of the Titans win over the New York Jets. We bring you the fantasy implications here.

Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker threw three touchdown passes in the first half of the Titans' win over the New York Jets before leaving in the third quarter with a right hip injury. The injury looked serious as Locker laid on the field without moving and the Titans medical staff called for a cart immediately. It's a shame as Locker has been solid and was turning into a viable fantasy option. He was taken to the hospital where he was admitted. It is not a good sign for the third-year quarterback, and we will keep an eye out for updates.

Fantasy impact: Locker's injury is a blow for the Titans who are a surprising 3-1 on the year. Locker had been very efficient with the football and hadn't turned the ball over. At the time of his injury, Locker had thrown for 721 yards and six touchdowns while rushing for 81 yards and a touchdown. It certainly looks like Locker could be done for the season as he was admitted to the hospital but officially his admission is for tests. Keep an eye on the situation but it doesn't look good. The Titans face the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 5 and will likely go with backup quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick if Locker is done. Fitzgerald looked rusty in relief of Locker against the Jets but did throw a touchdown pass to wideout Nate Washington.
