Chris Johnson's fantasy value dropping as struggles continue

Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson rushes against the San Diego Chargers - Frederick Breedon

The Tennessee Titans running back rushed 15 times for 21 yards in the Titans Week 4 win over the New York Jets. We bring you the fantasy implications.

Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson rushed 15 times for 21 yards and did not find the end zone in the Titans' Week 4 win over the New York Jets. After a fairly strong start, Johnson has struggled to find consistent running room and didn't find much against a strong New York Jets defense. Johnson saw his carries go to power runner Jackie Battle in the second half who was far more successful running the ball. Johnson's value right now is dropping slightly but the weather also played a factor since Johnson isn't a grinder. You do have to wonder why the Titans aren't getting him out in space.

Fantasy impact: Johnson's yards per carry has continued to drop and he finished with a 1.4-yard average in this game. On the year, Johnson has 84 carries for 277 yards and no touchdowns. For those doing the math at home, that's a 3.3 YPC average. He could be entering start only in certain matchups territory. The Titans will face the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 5 and could be without quarterback Jake Locker. Johnson probably still carries must-start status, but fantasy owners could understandably be inclined to look at other options.
