Julian Edelman rewards fantasy owners with 2 first-half TDs

Edelman, not Amendola, not Thompkins, not anyone else, was Tom Brady's big target through the first half Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman has had the biggest day among the New England receiving corps through the first half Sunday. Edelman has five receptions for 31 yards and two touchdowns against the Bills so far.

Edelman caught a 9-yard touchdown pass in the first half, and followed that up with an 8-yard TD at the two-minute warning. The Patriots lead 17-14 at halftime.

Fantasy impact: Edelman was somewhat the forgotten man among the Patriots offensive players entering the season, as Danny Amendola, Kenbrell Thompkins, Aaron Dobson, Rob Gronkowski, and Zach Sudfeld were all highly discussed in fantasy circles.

Edelman had a decent start to the year last season, before injuries slowed him down. He's owned in only 15% of Yahoo! leagues. Expect that to rise after this outing, especially if Amendola's first-half injury lingers beyond today's game.
