Julio Jones disappoints fantasy owners in Week 1

Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones runs past Jabari Greer of the New Orleans Saints - Chris Graythen

The Falcons receiver had an average Week 1 fantasy outing with only one touchdown and 76 receiving yards. We bring you the fantasy implications.

Julio Jones is an elite wide receiver and fantasy owners expect him to put up big numbers. Jones had a solid, but not spectacular, day on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. The Falcons receiver finished the day with seven receptions for 76 yards and a touchdown. Jones had the most targets of all Falcons receivers with nine, but quarterback Matt Ryan would target nine different receivers on Sunday.

Fantasy impact: Jones had a disappointing game for fantasy owners, but that shouldn't dampen their enthusiasm for the elite wide receiver. While his Week 1 production wasn't up to par, he got the bulk of the targets from his quarterback. Jones should rebound from this disappointing outing and put up the numbers his fantasy owners have grown to expect. The Falcons host the Redskins in Week 2, who will be coming off a Monday night football game in Week 1, so Jones should return to his typical elite receiving numbers.
