Marques Colston has decent fantasy game in Week 1

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Marques Colston is tackled by Thomas DeCloud of the Atlanta Falcons - Josh D. Weiss-US PRESSWIRE

The Saints wideout only caught five passes for 68 yards in the season opener against the Atlanta Falcons, but he did add a touchdown for his fantasy owners. We bring you the fantasy implication here.

Marques Colston caught five passes for 68 yards with one touchdown in the season opener against the Atlanta Falcons. Colston was targeted a total of six times by quarterback Drew Brees and he did find the end zone. For a guy many expected to put up greater numbers this is clearly disappointing for fantasy owners.

Fantasy impact: Colston is the No. 1 wide receiver on the Saints offense, but he didn't put up WR1 numbers. This has been an ongoing issue with Colston and the Week 1 totals didn't do anything to calm these concerns. The presence of ultra elite tight end Jimmy Graham shouldn't make that much of a difference with an elite quarterback like Drew Brees throwing the ball. Colston's Week 1 numbers aren't those of a WR1, but he should still be considered a high WR2 with Brees throwing him the ball. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on this situation, but he is still a solid start in fantasy leagues.
