New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz had a stellar day to begin the season against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Cruz caught just five passes, but went for 118 yards and three touchdowns. That's good for an average of 23.6 yards per reception.
Cruz was a crucial part of Eli Manning putting together a semi-respectable day, given that the quarterback also threw three interceptions on the day. Still, at the end of the day, Manning finished with four touchdowns and 450 yards. Cruz managed a solid chunk of those yards on a single reception, as he hauled in a 70-yard strike in the second quarter.
In the week before the game, there were those who were unsure if Cruz would even play. Cruz injured himself in the team's second preseason game and didn't return to practice until this week.
Fantasy Impact: Any doubts as to Cruz's health should be done away with after that performance on Sunday. He's clearly one of Manning's top targets alongside Hakeem Nicks (who had 114 yards of his own on Sunday), but seems to be the go-to guy for the touchdowns. Start him every week from here on out -- sans bye of course -- or risk losing your matchups.
