Zach Sudfeld dealing with hamstring issue, fantasy status is up in the air

Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

Zach Sudfeld pulled his hammy in Sunday's game and didn't return. We break down the fantasy implications.

Patriots tight end Zach Sudfeld pulled his hamstring in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game and did not play in the fourth quarter. His status is up in the air for Thursday's game against the Jets.

He finished with no catches and one target against the Bills in Week 1.

Fantasy impact: On a day in which tight ends went off, Sudfeld owners missed the boat with a goose egg. Tom Brady targeted Kenbrell Thompkins and Danny Amendola 14 times each and he had 52 pass attempts. Compounding the injury news with the lackluster performance, his owners might want to look elsewhere for a tight end that started out on the right foot. What's more, Rob Gronkowski (back) coming back soon isn't going to help, either. Michael Hoomanawanui is the only healthy tight end and has no fantasy value. The Pats might have to sign someone to play in their divisional matchup.
