Michael Vick's fantasy value booming with three total touchdowns in first half

Patrick Smith

Michael Vick and the Eagles efficiently moved the ball at a grueling pace and versus the Redskins in the first half of Monday night's season opener. We break down the fantasy implications.

Michael Vick passed for two touchdowns and ran for one as the Philadelphia Eagles ran 54 plays on offense in the first half versus the Redskins and put up 26 points.

The lightning-fast pace through one half of play has already produced huge fantasy results for Vick, who has 190 passing yards and 10 rushing yards thus far. Vick also found DeSean Jackson and Brent Celek for his pair of  passing touchdowns.

Fantasy Spin: More snaps means more opportunities, and there will be no shortage of those for the Eagles this season. As a result, Vick will be a huge beneficiary should this pace keeps up. Though 54 plays in one half is not sustainable, even for a team that moves at this pace, there is nothing to indicate that the Eagles will not be among or atop the league leaders in total plays this season.

The cat's out of the bag on what kind of pace Chip Kelly will run, and it's what fantasy owners prayed for. There should be plenty of fantasy points to come for Vick, even if he doesn't put up the most efficient numbers. The volume is there, and that's what matters.
