Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Charles Sims is dealing with an ankle injury he suffered on Tuesday. The team has not confirmed any details about the injury, but beat writer Greg Auman spotted Sims wearing a walking boot on Thursday.

Given the nature of ankle injuries, Sims is unlikely to suit up for Saturday's preseason game against the Miami Dolphins. A third-round pick out of West Virginia, Sims ran with the third team in last week's preseason opener, rushing six times for 13 yards and catching three passes for 32 yards.
Fantasy impact: Sims' availability is still up in the air for the rest of preseason, but there doesn't seem to be too much concern about him being ready for Week 1. A talented pass catcher, Sims should find some kind of role in his rookie year and should beat out Bobby Rainey to be the primary backup behind Doug Martin. If healthy, Sims is worth a late-round flier as a change-of-pace guy.
