Toby Gerhart rushed for 32 yards and one touchdown on 10 carries against the San Diego Chargers in Week 4. He only added one catch for 8 yards in the receiving game on Sunday.
Gerhart lost a fumble to start the game. While the Jacksonvile Jaguars coaches claim that miscue had no bearing on his touches the rest of the game, it seems likely that it had some impact. The Jaguars' starting running back hasn't rushed for more than 42 yards in a game in 2014.
Fantasy impact: Some owners hoped the emergence of Blake Bortles in the starting lineup would benefit Gerhart going forward. While it's still too early to predict his usage the rest of the year, this was a disappointing day. Gerhart's touchdown in the second quarter at least helped fantasy owners a bit.
Through four games, Gerhart's longest run is 13 yards. The Jaguars offensive line does not do him any favors, but Gerhart's move to Jacksonville continues to burn owners who drafted him in the fifth or sixth round.
