The eighth week of the 2016 regular season is just about coming to a close with only the Monday Night Football game remaining. Most fantasy football leagues will run their waiver wires late Tuesday or early Wednesday, but we are here to help you get a jump on the best options to consider.
Week 9 features six teams on bye, which will have a major impact both on positional players and defense/special teams units. We’ll rank out a few D/ST streaming options to get you ready for Week 9. Throughout the week, we will update each of these articles as ownership percentages change (via Yahoo!) and news arrives.
Waiver wire D/ST rankings, Week 9
1. Atlanta Falcons (Nine percent owned)
The Falcons travel face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 9 looking for some revenge from a Week 1 upset loss. The Falcons have been up and down all year on defense, but I like their chances for a decent performance on the road.
2. Baltimore Ravens (30 percent owned)
The Ravens are coming off a double-digit performance at the New York Jets. In Week 9, they face Landry Jones in relief of Ben Roethlisberger. It’s worth a start.
3. Miami Dolphins (Three percent owned)
A chance at home against Ryan Fitzpatrick and the New York Jets offense? Yes, please.
4. San Diego Chargers (Eight percent owned)
The Chargers have double-digit performances two of the past three weeks, and three times on the season. The Titans are coming off a high-scoring win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, but look for them to stumble on the road.
