Tight end Zach Ertz rebounded from a season-low two receptions for eight yards in Week 11 to post a season-high 10 receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown in the Philadelphia Eagles’ blowout win over the Chicago Bears.
Ertz was also targeted a season-high 12 times for the second time this season in the contest. This was his first 100-yard reception game of the season. Ertz leads the Eagles’ receiving corps in receptions and receiving yards. He is also tied with wideout Alshon Jeffery for the most touchdown receptions with seven.
Sunday night, Ertz will look to stay hot against a Seattle Seahawks defense that is pretty friendly to tight ends. The Seahawks have given up the 11th-most receiving yards to the position this season. They have only allowed four touchdowns to tight ends so far, however. Ertz has been held under 40 yards receiving in each of his two career meetings with Seattle. He did score in both contests.
Fantasy impact: Ertz has momentum heading into a favorable matchup Sunday night. The Seahawks are missing big names on the defense and they have lost sight of tight ends in previous games this season. Ertz, as an integral piece of the Eagles’ passing game, should see a lot of targets again this week. He may not post another 100-yard receiving game but he should be able to come close and get in the end zone at least once as well. Ertz is a must-start for Week 13.
