Accenture Match Play 2011: Stewart Cink, Ernie Els On To Bracket's Second Round

The Accenture Match Play 2011 bracket saw Stewart Cink, Ernie Els, Ryan Palmer, Miguel Jimenez, Edoardo Molinari, J.B. Holmes, Y.E. Yang, Graeme McDowell, and Ross Fisher earn winning scores Wednesday afternoon. The biggest upsets among those results are Cink’s topping of Ian Poulter and Palmer’s takedown of Jim Furyk, both No. 3 seeds.

Tiger Woods just teed off against Thomas Bjorn, down 1 through four holes. Phil Mickelson has made it through seven holes against Brendan Jones, already up 3. The event’s other two No. 1 seeds, Lee Westwood and Martin Kaymer, are both up 1 early in their afternoons.

Five round-two pairings are now set: Cink vs. Yang, Els vs. Holmes, Fisher vs. McDowell, Jimenez vs. Palmer, and Donald vs. Molinari.

Potential upset victims in matches wrapping up soon include Francesco Molinari, who’s down 5 against Ryan Moore, and Matt Kuchar, down 2 against Anders Hansen.
