The Memorial Golf Tournament tees off Thursday at 7:20 a.m. EST at Dublin's Muirfield Village Golf Club. Notably absent from the 2011 tournament field are No. 5 David Toms, No. 9 Rory Sabbatini and of course Tiger Woods, who remains on the mend. Woods has won the Memorial four times.

Speaking of Woods, Jack Nicklaus, who designed the Memorial course, spoke with the former No. 1 player on Friday.
"Tiger called on Friday and he was trying to, he said, 'I tried up until today to see if I'm going to be able to come and play but I can't.' He said 'I'm still hobbling and he said 'I don't know whether I'm going to make the U.S. Open or not."
